 We hope to provide you with the information you need to fulfill your interests  The Washington County Historical Society is headquartered in Sandersville, Georgia.  It was begun through an effort by Elizabeth Pritchard Newsom and some of her friends in 1977.  The Washington County Historical Society's Board and General Meetings are held quarterly in the months of January, April, July, and October.  The Board meetings are held at Chester Deans on E. Haynes St. in Sandersville on Mondays at 12:00 PM.  The General Membership Meetings are held at the Washington EMC Civic Meeting Room on N. Smith St. at 7:00 PM one week after the Board Meeting on Mondays.  The new meeting time of 7:00 PM was approved at the last quartery meeting.  The General Meeting always has a program of genealogical and historical value.  The Washington County Historical Society operates through a Committee System.  Each Committee has its area of particular focus.  Feel free to visit each committee's web page.
